Why Attend MediAsia?

The 6th Kyoto Conference on Arts, Media & Culture (KAMC2025) and The 16th Asian Conference on Media, Communication & Film (MediAsia2025) took place in one of the major cultural hearts of Japan. Kyoto is one of the country’s most storied and beautiful cities, and was once the capital of Japan for over a thousand years from 794 until 1868. Today, Kyoto continues to flourish in a rich cultural heritage and tradition of innovative thinking, as a place where East mingles with the West. With Kyoto’s unique blend of deep tradition and modernity as a backdrop, KAMC/MediAsia2025 welcomed some 320 delegates from 38 countries.

Read Last Year's Conference Report

IAFOR produces conference reports that provide concise and coherent overviews of the ideas, conversations, and areas of research present. These include key themes and takeaways, referencing programme(s), speakers, and attendees, which are curated and archived for both those who attended the event and those who did not to stay abreast of many of the developments and insights provided by the conference and the collective intelligence of its participants. The reports are not meant to be, and indeed cannot be, exhaustive, and yet they aim to make a significant intellectual contribution drawn from the unique collaborative and contrastive space of IAFOR events.
